Introduction to the concept of entrepreneurship with Ismaël Tanko

As solar represents a real opportunity to create jobs for young people while participating in the socio-economic development of African rural areas in particular, Energy Generation has created a 10-month program to meet training needs in the field: “Training installers and maintenance technicians of solar photovoltaic systems”.

The programme benefits from technical and educational support from the Schneider Electric Foundation and financial support from the global leader in energy- Electricité de France (EDF), in the form of grants for young women.

Ladies, don't hesitate to get in touch with us to find out more!

The training is subdivided into two parts: the technical course which was the subject of the previous article and the entrepreneurship course which is rich in several modules and taught by different speakers.

Raymond Ramazani-Saleh, one of our learners who came from the DR Congo to follow the training testifies:

"After having acquired the technical bases on the installation and the maintenance of photovoltaic solar systems, we continued with the entrepreneurship course with several modules like accounting, financial management, marketing and communication, management and development of a company, business model, business plan development, leadership and personal development. This training was instructive and full of motivation, surprises, inspiration. We are ready to put our technical and entrepreneurial skills to good use on the African market. We thank EG for the quality of learning and the selection of trainers from all over the world. We invite all young people to come and enjoy this experience at Energy Generation.”

Here are some examples of modules taught:

Essential to start on a good basis to manage a business, the accounting and financial management modules were provided by Olivier KODJO, marketing and entrepreneurship consultant at the West African Observatory for Sustainable Development.

The trainer Vincent DECOBECQ of the Schneider Electric Foundation knew how to instill in our learners the tenets of the marketing-communication strategy for a good management of the customer service, enhanced with a field trip to get the first customer feedback. Each learner will thus know what means and decisions to take in order to best adjust a company in its economic, political and social environment.

The business management course was taught by Calixta AKIBODE, Entrepreneurship Advisor at the National Employment Agency.

On campus, San N’ta Laré-Sambiani, another enthusiastic learner had this to say:

“Being a marketer, this training came at the right time to strengthen my leadership skills. It was an excellent and invaluable opportunity for upgrading in accordance with new managerial techniques. I emphasize the quality of the training. It resulted in a team of teachers with a high level of pedagogical capacity. At EG, skills are developed. Bravo to all the staff !!! ”

This first training session was therefore a great success and was followed by a second and then a third session.

We are very satisfied with the results achieved so far. A total of 37 people, 21 of whom are women, have been trained to date and the majority of them are currently in employed.

Building on these successes, we invite you not to doubt your talents and to invest in your future, the challenging part is to get started! Energy Generation will be happy to support you in the realization of your projects. Registration for the next sessions is open, apply now!
